Rey single-handedly started the San Lazaros shelter in downtown LA in 2012, providing a safe haven for some of the homeless living in the area. Easy recognizable by the mural of San Lazaros painted on the outside wall of the store by graffiti artist Tetris of One4th, the shelter provides tents and beds and even a washroom and port-a-potties.

Once a week, on Saturdays, about 50 volunteers from the Chinese Buddhist organization Tzu Chi come to San Lazaros and set up a kitchen, providing food and tea for the homeless who line up an hour before.

Unfuck The World worked with Rey to organize a donation drive, providing food, blankets, personal hygiene products — even time with a hair stylist — to those in need.

Great work, Rey!
